Different Organizations

1. What associations will it be important to belong to when you are employed and engaged on your career path?  Identify at least two organizations.

I’m going to take this time you elaborate of the responsibilities of an Air Force Officer, considering I will be commissioning in about a month. I am not currently in the Air Force, but in a holding position between the reserves and active duty, called ROTC. It’s sort of its own thing because I’m obligated to the military, but more so than if I was just in the reserves. To answer the question, an important organization would be, the Air Force. Considering when I join I will be so much more than just an aviator, but an officer. A lot of people forget that part while in training but the fact of the matter is, I will be an officer first, a pilot second. If they need me to do something completely unrelated to flying, I will have to be able to do that, and do it well.
Another thing it will be important to be a part of, which isn’t exactly an organization but is very important and relevant to my career. Is to stay informed with the political environment, both on a domestic and international level. Considering many decisions made in these two sectors will directly affect my career before many other careers feel the implementations.

2. Research the associations that you identified. Discuss the mission and functions of each association. Also discuss the role of these organizations in the overall industry, including their support for other sectors of the industry.

The organizations I’ve chosen aren’t really conventional. But starting with the Air Force it’s mission is “To Flight, Fight and Win… in Air, Space and Cyberspace”. It’s core values are Integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. Their role is to support and defend the United State of America, but more than that, to also defend the values of our country. Which means that we will smite tyranny, terrorists, and any other evil in this world. In short, the Air Force’s mission is to defend the US and innocent people in the world.
Also, there has been talk that we are on the verge of a third world war. Take that with a grain of salt but there have definitely been some passive aggressive moves by big players in the world. Before the Olympics, North Korea was putting up a fight and forcing us to make offensive moves. The end goal of these actions was to make them realize they need to obey international law. More recently, with the expulsion of foreign diplomats in many countries across the world; including, but not limited to, Russians, Brits, and Americans. We seem to be entering a new age cold war, which is a sign that we might need to take military actions soon. It is because of things like this that makes it paramount for military members to stay informed with current events both at home and around the world. (Tarasova, 2018)

3. Discuss why is it important for you to belong to these associations.

I sort of mentioned the importance of being an officer before a pilot but to reiterate. When duty calls, it will be my responsibility to answer that call. Even though they will be investing a lot of money into educating me on how to fly, someday it will be more important for me to use my experience in the Air Force for something else, including leading, commanding, organizing, etc…
Because we are currently engaged in a few conflicts, and these different conflicts are very complex and only becoming more complicated. Quoting billionaire Warren Buffet intelligence is similar to compounding interest. (Dzombak, 2014)

4. Describe potential employment opportunities with these organizations.

The Air Force is a great career or resume builder, depending on how you view the military personally.
Have knowledge about current events in the world will show an employer that not only you care what is going on. But you also have enough energy and understanding for it that you are willing to think outside of the box to develop your own thoughts and views on what is going on.
